Video
Concept:
The main goal of the video workshop will be to document the activities taking place in international exchange project “Bljižnice/Paths to Each Other”. How the groups develop their ideas, where they find solutions to their dilemmas, how they start to develop their work, what problems they encounter along the way, how they choose to solve them, and what the inner dynamics of working within a group is like... all of this will be documented. Along with, of course, all the fun the participants will have in their spare time.
There will be two video crews recording the activities. At the end of each day the participants of the video workshop will transfer their film to the computer. While recording and thus observing the development of the project, the participants will work toward a finished product. The video workshop participants will have a similar challenge as the others; just like the other groups they will try to join their work into one whole - the final presentation -. The video group will be mixing the activities of individual groups into a whole. In the process of linking the workshops, the synthesis of creative ideas will materialize on film. In this final stage both crews will, for the first time, record the same situation simultaneously.
The workshop will be presented as a film documentary on the exchange project. The participants will gain a sense of pride as they record on their own and edit the experience, with aid from two of the workshop leaders - Simon Gosnik, a professional filmmaker and Andrej Černelč, director of the “Urok” documentary. Finally, the workshop group will be filming the final presentation. Recording of the presentation, uncut and raw, could also be the final scene of the film.
