Chime-Bells as a folkloric and modern type of music
Basic idea:
The main goal of the workshop is to present chiming as folk music and to integrate chiming in another/different way of musical expression. We would like to present this special Slovenian art (this music originates only from Slovene ethnic areas) and to show how it is possible to include this kind of music in other music genres.
Expectations:
During the workshop we are expecting that participants will learn some basic music compositions, ways/techniques of chime-bells. We are expecting that participants will pass on this knowledge over to the young people in their own countries. At the end of the workshop, the participants should be able to develop chiming on their own. Additionally, they should know how to distinguish folk and modern components within this very special music.
Max. number of participants: 8

About the leader
Vid is 26 years old. He studies drums with famous Slovenian jazz drummer, Zlatko Kaucic. He also plays with five different bands. In each band he uses different approaches from contemporary rock music to jazz. His life really evolves around music since he also teaches drums in a private music school in Ljubljana. He is looking forward to the exchange so he can teach to his participants, chime-bells, a Slovene traditional music art. In his free time, he likes to talk with his friends about… music of course and life in general about everything and nothing.
